About Me

Hi, I am Roxanne Kopizenski, owner of The Growth Lab. I was born, raised and educated in the United States, and have been living in Germany since 2015. I have always had a passion for working with others, and my interest in psychology and human behavior started when I was 10 years old. While obtaining my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, I became very interested in the field of Behavioral Psychology, which led to my dream of becoming a psychotherapist. After working in the field for a few years, I obtained a Master of Social Work with a focus on Direct Clinical Practice. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist in the United States since 2015. I have worked in a variety of settings including a residential treatment center for adolescents, provided crisis counseling for the Phoenix Fire Department and worked for many years  as medical social worker in ICUs and Emergency Departments. Working in medical and psychiatric hospitals was very exciting and I gained valuable experience and knowledge that taught me valuable lessons about life, death, and everything in between.

Since moving to Germany I have been working diligently at learning German, and completing certifications so that I could fufill my lifelong dream of opening a private practice. As an immigrant myself, I have experienced first-hand the  difficulties of adjusting to an entirely new life. Over the past few years, I have become aware of the lack of native English speakers offering counseling and coaching to the Expat and English speaking community in Germany. I'm honored to be able to provide these services for my community and look forward to working with you!
